hope you are in the best of your health..thanks alot for your reply…i found it very encouraging.you answered all my questions as exactly as i wanted to hear from someone i am seeking for guidance. because you know if you ask wrong kind of people they can totally detrack you from your goal in their effort for HELP. but you saved me from that.thanks would you please kindly let me know which books you followed for compulsory subjects as well? and do you think it could be help full that i share my daily write ups and analysis with the the newspaper’s ‘reader’s corner’? i mean we do discuss day to day abt wats happening around us and always have opinions about almost everything whats hot and whats not, is it important to have an experts opinion on my thoughts?as i might not be seeing things from the right perspective. i hope you are understanding my point. one last thing, what are you doing these days…we all know now what subjects you chose and the fact that u provide wonderful guidance. but are you currently associated with civil services or providing your nobel services of guidance only? because i didnt happen to read anywhere about what group you chose after passing. Although what you are doing is a great job..but out of curiosity i’d like to know…if you dont mind. and if you find anything offending you r welcumed to ignore it at once.will try to keep in touch for seeking further your guidance.

As I did B.E Software Engineering from Mehran University Jamshoro, I have been working as Software Engineer since last three years, but as from the childhood I am keen in attempting CSS. Now I am facing some of the following problem during my study

As far as Indo-Pak History is concerned, I am facing problem to purchase it .though Pak history by K. Ali both volumes is not available in Karachi, Lahore,Rawalpindi and even in Islamabad, as I contact through phone on their relevant online Book Store. So May I have these books (Vol-I & Vol-II of Indo-Pak History) from your side. I assure you to return you these books after getting photocopy of it. If you don’t have these books, then please let it confirm from your fellows, as I have not that much interaction with CSS fellows.

Physics: from where can I have numerical problem of Physics?

I don’t have the book you are asking for, between, have you checked Sukkur, if not; please do check it with Mujahid Book Depot, Neem Ki Charhi, Sukkur. They have good deal of stock available. About Physics, brother Physics is French to me since it has never been my subject. I wish you all the very best.

i have heared, in CSS paper only red and black inc pen is allowed and in the other case the examiner may deduct 5 marks in each subject. kindly let us know if there is any other rule regarding paper attemptation.

I have decided to appear in CSS for the first time in my life but I have only two chances because my age is 26. I have problem regarding subject selection. I did my Matriculation with Science subjects, HSSC in Psychology, Education and Fine arts, Graduation in English literature and Journalism and Masters in English Linguistics and Literature. I learnt that English Literature in CSS is not a point scoring subject. People don’t recommend it but I saw the syllabus and found it rather easy. What would be your word about that? Let me tell you also that I am very poor at remembering dates so history of any sort is not at all my cup of tea whether it be pak studies or world history. Also tell me they way to grab at current affairs; newspapers and our JALEBI-LIKE politics confuse me alot. Im unable to understand their games, strategies and statements. Hope to get an early reply… thanks..

In my personal view, you must go for your master degree since degree courses are more important than CSS. Once you are done with it, you can still appear in CSS but you must remember that maximum age for CSS is 28 years so stay careful about it.

First of all I would like to appreciate the efforts for helping the newcomers in the CSS exam process.I visited this site many times but this is my first request to you .I am master in computer science from peshawer university.my optional subjects are(cs ,stat ,Persian,USA history,sociology).I will wish to apear in 2009 CSS exam. Respected sir I need the explanation of the following steps you have already mentioned in your recipe of success.

1 Mr. Jafri taught me how to attempt the paper not only of his subject of Indo & Pakistan history but his principles applied to all the subject(please sir write me and explain the principles of attempting a paper)

2 Quotations narrated by Mr Jafri back during classes. He taught us to deal the questions by giving as many quotations as possible. He gave us idea about the relative importance of topics and helped us a lot.(is it specific quotition?)

3. I use to practice drawing the world map and practically did the same in my papers too.

4. I didn’t followed any of the notes available with the academy but learnt a great deal of stuff regarding how to approach the questions in the Examination

i have a confesion about the subject selection that suit me as i did my graduation in computer science and the intermedait education was based on premedical subject.So plz mention atleast four worth optional subject those according to above mention senario to me to opt.

secondly,according to the FPSC website suggesting number of books to study almost 12 book for single subject, this become very hard to prepare for CSS and to Complete With in 6 month short time. so plz logically how many books to buy for every subject preparasion

Assalam u elekum,i have been visiting your useful site since last two months,i have availed my two chances of css,and the last is of 2009’s.ist i remained in english while second too does not seem satisfactory in the same subject,my question is that, should i go to any academy for getting excelence in essay writing ? and is it possible to be covered while remaining time span is 6 months?or can i cover it by any other means prescribed by u while staying at home? Dear Aslam,

Going to academy is a good idea, there you will atleast have an idea about your mistakes. I would recommend you to go for an academy or a tutor both options are good because CSS 2009 is your last attempt and it is better to play safe. To me, 6 months are enough if you are putting all your energies into it. I wish you all the best.
