Sir, I am about to complet my M.Sc programm.next aim is to appear in CSS exam as early as possible.kindly tell me some tactics in the light of which i may b able to attempt the required number of questions in the given fixed time.how fast i should write so as to complete each paper?Thanks.

In most of the cases, one has to answer five questions in a paper. One had three hours at his disposal for writing answers. When I had given my papers, I used to plan my answers initially. One question among five is that of MCQs and for that little time is required. It is up to you to decide to how much time you ought to give to this question. Having decided about the time you want to dedicate to MCQs, you can divide remaining time equally to remaining four questions. This what I did in my papers

i am a graduate in economics, i want to appear in the forthcoming css-2009 and also NWFP PMS july 2008, i have very short time for the MPS i may therefore be guded for the crash preparation.

In your case, I think you degree will help you a good deal. About crash course thing, for PMS you can say but in case of CSS 2009, you do have a good deal of time to prepare thoroughly so I think you must plan first and then start your preparation. I wonder if you have chosen the optional subjects, if not please start with choosing your optional subjects and buy the best books available. Please have a look at the rules and syllabus and then decide. Once done with it, do let me know to how I may be of any assistance to you.

I am glad that you want to go ahead with you PhD. I think you must concentrate on it. In case you want to do CSS, I would like you to make a decision first, from your comment, I gather that you are not that much serious. i m Akbar i recently have completed my BBA(H)and now i would like be appear in CSS examination and i m confused because my date of birth which appears as 1980 2nd june in my matric certificate.please advice me what i need to do to be appear in CCs examination of 2009.i m very disappointed help me plzzzz

As for as I know the maximum age for CSS is 28 year and by June 2, 2008 you will reach that mark so technically speaking you will not be eligible for the examination in 2009. This is my personal opinion after reading the rules so you must confirm it from some other fellow too.

I am glad that you are thinking critically and in my view it is the key to success. In my point of view, you must concentrate first on your professional degree and then step ahead for the preparation of CSS. Please have a look at my recipe. Moreover, for opting optional subjects it is you who can decide. What I will suggest that you should have a look at the list of subjects and pen down the subjects of your interest and then have a look at the past unsolved papers to have an idea to what will appear in the exams. Thank you very much for your wishes. About your query, in case of optional subjects, I try to convey a message continuously that it is you who can decide perfectly since you have to take the exam. I would suggest you to please have the list of all the optional subjects, note down the subjects of your interest and once done with it get hold of the past papers and have a look at them and decide if you are interested in that particular subject of not. In my view, only then you can be able to make a proper and rational decision.

i m preparing 4 esays now adays.the problem i m confronting is that i never get sufficient stuff regarding diffenet topics online.e.g if i want to write an essay on extremism,i searched it on wikipedia but limited essay was written over there.so plz suggest me some links which will help me to get through easily.

Dear Ali,
In your case, I would say, you will never find the matter arranged your way. You need to do the research and collect required stuff and then write. This is the only way I know. Apart from this, in case of some issues that are of vital importance, you can have a book named Contemporary Affairs by M. Imtiaz Shahid. In that book you can have much required information that can be used in CSS Essays paper as well as current affairs paper. I hope it will help you. One more thing, this book is a series and you must buy the most recent edition to gain the best output.

Yes graduation is necessary for CSS. Once you are done with it, you can sit in this exam provided you age is the age range for CSS that is 21-28 years.

I don’t know the policy for PMS but in case of CSS as for as I know one can not change the subjects once form is filled. Please have a look at the rules of CSS by clicking here.

In my view, all subjects are scoring provided you prepare well. In you case I would suggest you like I do suggest others to select the subjects of your interest and have a look at the past papers and then decide.

I am a student of B.A, infact i just appeard in Annual Examination of B.A 2008. After my result i will try my level best to get admission in M.Sc Psychology but on the other hand i also want to try my luck at css. I doesn’t matter if i get really good marks, even if i dont get it would be still an experience. My problem is that i dont have any fair idea about the subjects and procedure. i am intrested in attemping the css examination. i have not done bachler`s.
i mean to say that i have not given the examination of B.A or B.COM etc. so can i give css exames on the basis of mbbs. and second i have drageous and hazardous problem of speeling. i am weak in speeling of english words. so how i can improve my speeling problem. i will be thank full to you if you respond me in bloming way.

Yes one can appear in CSS on the basis of MBBS. If you want to improve spelling try to write as much as you can.

I am an over seas Pakistani living in US for the past 15 years. I have developed an interest to appear for CSS. But I am much disappointed about the age group limitaion. I have just turned 33. After reading the rules, I did not come across any rule that might help me to qualify. Now the question to you, is there any provision that I use to my advantage to be qualified?
