CSS: My recipe for success!

Having cleared my written portion of the exam, I thought to share my strategy and recipe to prepare for the exam with all those who want to appear for this exam in future. So here you go:

Background and decision making:

1. Back in December 2005, I passed out from my medical school and thought to appear in the CSS.
2. In January 2006, some friend of mine suggested me to join some academy in Lahore to prepare for the exam.
3. I went to Lahore and reached there on January 27, 2006 and joined the academy next day.
4. Prepared in Lahore for next three month and came back to my native place by first week of May 2006. So I prepared for the exam for no more the 3 months in a row for my first attempt.

My first attempt:

It went well but I failed in only one subject and it was English essay. Though a failure but results were encouraging and I thanked God since it was no bad with a preparation of mere 3 months.

The Gap:

Went to do my house job and for 6 months I was completely out of touch.

Preparation for Second attempt:

By December 16 2006, I was done with my first six months of house job. Since the schedule for the CSS 2007 got announced I thought to move to Karachi for exclusive preparation. I started preparation for in January 2007 and appeared in March. Alhamdulillah I passed it!

So total time that I spent for preparation was six month with a gap of Six month between both cycles of three month for first and second term.

My skills:

I was a medical student with a good deal of stamina for study moreover I was good at English since beginning and use to write for periodicals in English so it was not an issue. I was widely read but my current affair knowledge was rudimentary but my literature knowledge was exceptional for my age.

At Academy:

The academy did help me in two ways. One it was like a guided tour to CSS, two, it had a great influence on my mind since I got encouraged and had a chance to compare myself with a lot of aspirants. About material, I didn’t followed any of the notes available with the academy but learnt a great deal of stuff regarding how to approach the questions in the Examination. Here I would like to mention two persons, Prof. Dr Mehdi Hassan and Mr. Mehmood Jafri (CSP). Prof. Mehdi Hassan is a familiar name for those who have opted for the journalism since his book is recommended by FPSC. He was the person who made my life easier with journalism and I earned maximum marks in this subject in my first attempt. After him Mr. Jafri taught me how to attempt the paper not only of his subject of Indo & Pakistan history but his principles applied to all the subject.
This was how academy helped me out

After Academy: First attempt preparation:

My daily routine use to start news paper i.e. Dawn. I use to chew this paper and use to read it for atleast 3 hours a day and I am of the view that 50 percent of the CSS examination can be passed by reading Dawn only (Any one can disagree but its my personal opinion).

Now I am going to write about preparation for the individual subjects:

1. First Attempt: English Papers

I didn’t prepare for these papers except reading the newspaper

2. First Attempt: Everyday Science:

Being a medical student, I use to teach few of my fellow aspirants so it helped me to sail smoothly

3. First Attempt: Current Affairs:

Daily Dawn with world map hanging in front of me is the gear. I use to plot every event on map and use to analyze it on the basis of geography. This helped me a lot. Moreover, selected programs of BBC world helped me a great deal.

4. First Attempt: Pakistan Affairs:

Dawn news and my preparation for the optional subject Indo-Pak History helped me

5. First Attempt: Islamiyat:

Remembered the translations of Surahs and use to read the special column of Dawn every Friday on editorial page.

6. First Attempt: Indo & Pakistan History:

K. Ally both volumes plus quotations narrated by Mr Jafri back during classes. He taught us to deal the questions by giving as many quotations as possible. He gave us idea about the relative importance of topics and helped us a lot.

7. First Attempt: I.R.

Parakash Chandra with input from the teacher from academy who gave us a list of important topics and style to approach the question

8. First Attempt: Public Administration:

Book by Sultan Khan, nothing else just straight study, no tricks nothing in this subject

9. First Attempt: Journalism:

Prof. Mehdi Hassan’s lectures and book by Imtiaz Shahid helped

10.First Attempt: Sindhi

My previous study of the subject helped plus the books by A. Jabbar, Leghari, A. Majeed Sindhi helped but no need to study all thoroughly. One needs to go for topics of interest.

This how I prepared for the first attempt. Now I will put some light on my preparation for the second attempt:

Essentially, my preparation for the second attempt had foundations in my preparation for the first attempt. The only difference was style of working. I will try to highlight those points only:

1. I got hold of a computer and 24 hrs internet connection.
2. I downloaded the BBC ticker for my desktop that used to display the current news.
3. Set of CDs from Virtual University on my subjects.
4. Started a current affairs blog for the practice of writing.
5. Famous documentaries by different channels

That’s it. So having all those things with me I started my journey. I use to write and write and write for more than 4 hours a day and use to publish it on my blog available for the public viewing. Latter, I deleted it due to some reasons.

1. I use to follow news from BBC’s ticker.

2. I use to watch the lecture on CDs that I purchased from VU

3. I use to transcribe the text from documentaries and use to read and read for sometime. (This helped me a lot with writing)

4. I use to try guessing the questions for the examination and use to write as if in Exam, used to check, modify and read them afterwards.

5. I use to practice drawing the world map and practically did the same in my papers too.

Conclusion:

1. Hard work is necessary but smart work is very important.
2. Try to stay analytical.
3. Practice, practice and practice writing about anything you feel important.
4. Daily Dawn is must read thing everyday.

This is my success story. If you do have any questions, you can put and I will try to answer.

    This is a scrap, Tasneem left on my orkut scrap book, I thought to answer her queries out here so that other aspirants may benefit from it too:

    thanx a lot,yeah i need full guidnce,css z not a piece of cake,i know its really a tough job to do,i ve seen the syllabus of many subjects,
    i m planing to go for this combination,
    pol sci,
    IR,
    cons law,
    indo pak his,
    but the most imp thng z this whether ds combination score making or not,as lit z not suiting me,i know my self,with n few days i will visit
    at DCL,i will try to gather more and more information regarding my exam,for me these subjects are fine,i thnk i can tackle,but i need how shall i start,as in ur recipe it was written”smart work iz more imp than hardwork”,plus i ve to improve my english,my speaking power z as urdu,but there z a lot of diffrnce bw speaking and writting,so what shall i do,from where shall i stdy,u see i ve jst taken out my father css books,from the markings of my father i m getting how mush i ve to stdy:(,well waiting for ur ans,gud luck 4 ur viva.

    and what do u thnk if i opt these subjects z it fine ac to u.

  13. drfarrukhhmalik on October 6th, 2007 1:46 pm

    @Tasneem: Yes you are right that CSS is not a piece of cake but serious attitude towards the exam, determination and strong will can make it happen. Firstly, you get clear you mind that you are going to make it with your efforts.

    Your combination is find, but I do have some reservations with political science, have you some previous background with the subject? Have you seen the past papers of the subject? If both your answers are in negative affirmation, think before stepping ahead it can be a very difficult subject.

    IR is good it will help you out alot in broadening your vision and current affairs too. Moreover, if you are adamant on taking Political Science, these too subject can complement each other.

    Constitutional Law, yes Political Science-II can help you out with Constitutional Law too.

    Indo-Pak history, again it was my subject and I love it due to my interest. If efforts are put in right direction, you will earn good marks out of it too.

    Well you have written that you can tackle these subjects then you are ready to run. Now the nest question, where to start? Well I would say start with two things; one, reading news paper, atleast for two to three hours, paste two maps (Pakistan and World) infront of your desk and start plotting the news on map it will help you alot. Two, pledge one thing with your self that you will not write the net-lingo (the language we use to use in cyberspace with all the short-cuts) atleast for sometime till you clear your exam. In my view, it use to one worsen the situation.

    I dont know what your dad might have used while preparing for the exam so can’t comment on his books but would like to tell you one thing. Get one book that is good and chew it all. Believe me it will work.

    Thanks for your wishes regarding my viva.

    In last, I will tell you one thing that I want have gathered out of my experience. A man is having enormous amount of energy that he can handle almost anything. This CSS is nothing and one can make it easily with smart and hard work (smart comes first to me). I think if you are able to do it all, Allah will not let your efforts go in vain.

    Rest, I am there for any assistance you need.

    Remember: Persistance is Victory… Go ahead!

    Hi adam me too in lahore if you are the beginner then we are inthe same boat but if you have some idea about the exam then i will be needing your help.
    I wanna start but the big question mark is HOW?
    ve decided abut optionals but again HOW to prepare them? What methodology required to start preparation?

  16. drfarrukhhmalik on October 11th, 2007 9:53 pm

  19. Farah on October 18th, 2007 10:13 pm

    aoa

    i am currently doing masters in Environmental Sciences and i am planning to appear in CSS ’09 inshAllah.
    Sir besides reading Dawn what else should i read to improve my writing ability?
    also which optional subjects do you think i should opt for?

    best of luck for your psychological test and the interview!!

  20. drfarrukhhmalik on October 19th, 2007 2:09 am

    @Farah: Thanks for the wishes for my interview and psy. tests.
    About your query, I would say you are on the right tract once you have started reading the newspaper. The next step, well you must practice writing, you can write about anything you feel important from news to personal happenings. It will offer you a great deal of confidence in writing during exam. About opt. subjects, you must check the list of opt. subject and short list your priority subjects and then have a look at the past papers. After doing that, you will be able to decide properly and I can assist you. Best of luck for your future pursuits.

  21. rose on October 19th, 2007 9:33 pm

    heartiest congratulations to you on passing css written part and inshALLAH you vill be through with your interview and tests as well !

    i have lost interest in css exams from the day 2006 css results came out.

    one of the toppers are in my house so doctor what vill u prescribe for this problem?

    thank u

  22. drfarrukhhmalik on October 19th, 2007 10:50 pm

    @rose:

    I think it is all about staying persistent, working hard and smart and a little luck.

  23. drfarrukhhmalik on October 19th, 2007 10:52 pm

    @rose:

    Between thanks for the wishes!

  24. rose on October 20th, 2007 9:52 am

    your three words “staying persistent, working hard and smart and a little luck’ are very encouraging.

    but i think that luck plays a major role in every exams but more in CSS exams besides all other requisites. everyone prepares themselves fully for the exams but yes there are certain tricks needed and for that matter luck is really important.

    besides hard work, intelligence should be there for attempting the exams. sometimes it happens that after 4 or more years of preparation, people fail to pass the exams and there are people who just study for six months but with determination and they pass with distinctions in their first attempt.

    so its true that imagination is more important than knowledge.

    Dr farrukh do u agree with this statement?

  25. drfarrukhhmalik on October 20th, 2007 4:07 pm

    @rose:

    I think this statement has origin with Einstein and for me it is a reality of life. To me imagination is very important but to polish this imagination and channel it in right direction we need to have knowledge. I would say, today, where ever we are, it is imagination that has shown us the possibilities and without which we would have stayed static but with this imagination knowledge transformed it into reality.

  26. rose on October 21st, 2007 8:37 am

    your answer is absolutely right .

    but if we look this situation in terms of CSS exams as i mentioned earlier, the situation vill be different. for example a person who has done two ro three masters, or he is a barrister, or a phd or a person whose academic career is excellent but when appears in CSS exams fails to pass . and in contrast a simple graduate degree holder in first attempt passes the exam with distinction.

    you might have observed this situation.

    my question is where does the weakness lies?

  27. drfarrukhhmalik on October 21st, 2007 4:52 pm

    @ rose:
    In order to answer you, I need to quote examples of some exams that are termed as standard assessment tools. I am pointing towards GRE (Graduate record examination), TOEFL (Test of English as Foreign language) and in my parent field of medicine it’s USMLE (License examination for US). In all those examinations, you will find one thing, you are never certain that what will your score be, it’s not always about knowledge, it’s about your performance on the test day. Same is the case with CSS. Take my example, I was not able to make it in my first attempt due to essay, though I had experience of publishing my work in peer reviewed international journal, I was having same knowledge and all the other things and was even well prepared than this attempt but I didn’t make it then. This year, I was diverted, was doing job but got cleared. So, at the moment, I am convinced that passing exam like CSS is an interplay of multiple factors and no body can claim knowing ‘em with certainty. If someone is not able to clear, it not his fault, certain things are out of our reach at times.

  28. rose on October 21st, 2007 8:32 pm

    you have pointed out the right examples and your experience is quite true.

    but after your first attempt you must have learned alot directly or indirectly for the second attempt and it should have added to experiece and knowlegde.

    i think CSS is all about checking our stamina and how we deliver our knowledge cleverly in form of relevant points. a year back i met an examiner for competitive exams. and he told that they look for the relevant material and the hand writing matters alot.

    may i know which group have you opted for CSS ?

  29. drfarrukhhmalik on October 21st, 2007 8:36 pm

    @rose: I am not allocated with the group yet, only time will tell. Between, are you planning to take the exam in days to come?

  30. Burhan on October 22nd, 2007 2:26 am

    Good Job Dr.Farrukh,
    I’ve just preparing for next yrs CSS exams. I don’t think it’s enough time.What do you say?? Can i have ur phone number please? Want to discuss few thinks.

    Regards,
    Burhan.

  31. rose on October 22nd, 2007 9:16 am

    i think group is allocated after the FINAL result.
    my question is what was your group priority for CSS when you filled in the CSS form?

    regarding your question, i have ample time to decide about my career.

  32. drfarrukhhmalik on October 22nd, 2007 10:18 am

    @rose: Oh I thought it the other way. My priority was PSP.

  33. drfarrukhhmalik on October 24th, 2007 9:37 pm

    @Burhan:

    Thank you Burhan. Well I think if you have a sound educational background it’s enough time with you but can’t say it for sure. About Phone number, you can post your queries here, I will be more comfortable with it. I wish you Good luck!

  34. Nimra on October 24th, 2007 10:23 pm

    Dear Doc,

    A.o.A. First of all I would like to appreciate the efforts you are putting in to help newcomers in the CSS exam process.

    I am 25 and have completed my Bachelors in Computer Sciences and recently doing a job in an American based software company. I have always been interested in doing CSS. The subjects I have chosen for myself are:
    Computer Sciences
    IndoPak History
    Journalism
    Mercantile law
    Muslim Law

    I would love if you could comment on my subject choice and help me by recommending some good books. My problem is that Mashallah i have a 3 year old daughter + house responsibilities + husband + a job to take care of.

    I was married between my BCS and I really worked very hard and completed my studies and was accompanied by a 2 year old baby on my graduation day :) . But now I just don’t know how I can manage all the things together. How much time should I take out everyday for studies? As I cant leave out or ignore any of my responsibilities.

    I know that there are no shortcuts but just hard work. But I would love if you could explain the intelligent way of hard work which would definitely take less time.

    Thanks a lot.
    Regards,
    Nimra.

  35. rose on October 24th, 2007 11:05 pm

    Dear Yousuf, I am not yet allocated with the group since I am only passed it this year. About contact no. I feel more comfortable out here so feel free to contact me through comment section of my blog and I will not let you down.

    One last thing, don’t get confused, I use to say it too all around me that confusion is a great hindrance in one’s success. So take it easy and do let me know if I can be of any assistance to you.

    I wish you good luck!

  39. drfarrukhhmalik on October 29th, 2007 6:48 pm

    @Nimra:

    I value your appreciation and I am glad that you are doing everything at par by taking care of all the important things in your life from your family to job.

    I can very well understand your situation and it is indeed very difficult to manage all that but I would say though it difficult but not impossible. with your firm determination and smart and hard work, you will attain the position you want for yourself. You only need proper guidance and you are ready to go.

    About you optional subjects, I would suggest you to buy the past papers of optional subject and go through them. You can only make decision after looking at those papers. It will clear alot of confusions.

    In your selection History of India and Pakistan and Journalism matches mine selection and I know both subjects are worth opting. Rest it varies from individual to individual.

    About short cuts, yes in CSS you need to follow tips for preparation that help one to prepare in minimum time. You might have seen many preparing for the exam for year and never get through it and some fellows pass the exams in mere months, so it is quite clear that proper direction matters alot.

    Don’t worry just start preparing and have faith in your driving force and you will see your self among the winners. Rest sky is the limit

    I wish you good luck!

    Salam Dr Farrukh,
    I did my B.A (eco,pol.science&stat) from GC in 2000 and M.A (business economics) from punjab university in 2003.From (2003-2007) I could not secure a reasonable job,probably due to lack of confidence,side by side I sat in css exams.
    I want to discuss a bit complicated issue regarding css.I appeared twice in 2004&2006,but could not pass the exam,due to half hearted attempts.I had indo-pak history(80/200),pol.science(100/200),const law(45/100) & int relations(50/100) in 2004 and british history(110/200),pol.science(80/200),const law(30/100) & int relations(49/100) in 2006 and managed to pass essay(45/100).Throughout this period I remained confused regarding subject selection,once again I am facing a tough time as many people close to me ask to change my optionals as they are not scoring in their view.I have also had an experience of variety of subjects (a little knowledge of) i.e sociology,journalism,pub admn & islamic history.
    I have started gaining confidence,still i have a strong desire to pass css 2008.I would like to ask a few questions.
    1)Should I change all my optionals with islamic history,sociology ,journalism,pub admn & muslim law?(as i have little knowledge of all these subjects)
    2)If I manage to pass css 2008,does it make any difference of changing optionals again and again,to the commission?(i mean will it irritate the commission?)
    3)As I have not had any job throughout,could this also proved to be an irritant in the eyes of commission?

    plz reply as early as possible, as i am left with exact 4 months,i have made up my mind to study as much as i can.
    thanks & take care.

  54. drfarrukhhmalik on November 14th, 2007 5:48 pm

    @Confused:

    I am impressed with you determination and I can say if you hit hard this time, you will definitely stay successful. About you queries here you are with my point of view:

    1)I don’t have any idea about Muslim law and Islamic history so can’t say anything for sure but Public Administration, Journalism and Sociology are easily manageable subjects.
    2)No commission has no problem with candidates who use to change subjects.
    3)Unemployment is also not an issue with commission

    So don’t pay any heed to these issues. Last but not least, I know you have been through a tough time but see appearing in exams have offered you a good deal of experience that is an edge over other candidates all you need to do is concentrate and use this experience to your benefit. I know you will make it provided you take required steps.
    I wish you good luck!

    regards…….

  56. drfarrukhhmalik on November 15th, 2007 2:30 pm

    @Ayesha:
    You are more than welcome. No its not necessary to decide it at the moment but for the sake of some knowledge, I would recommend to have a bird’s eye view of all the trade groups attached with CSS.
    No matter where you from, you can apply from any center at your convenience, you will have to indicate your district of domicile in your application form.
    Academy for CSS, well it’s pretty tough question. In fact it depends, I prepared in Officers academy, garden town Lahore and KIPS is equally good so you need to choose any one.
    Keep coming back with your queries, it’s a pleasure to help you out.
    I wish you good luck!

    brother Farrukh could you please let me know your marks in optionals as well as compulsory subjects for the year 2006?It will really be a great favour.thanks a lot

  60. drfarrukhhmalik on November 16th, 2007 3:48 pm

    @Ayesha:
    The subjects that you think, you can prepare well are the best subjects. Besides, your selection is good. About occupational groups you can find some information at http://drfarrukhhmalik.wordpress.com/css-pakistan/

    @Confused:
    Thank you for wishing me luck. In 2006, well you may be surprised but I don’t exactly remember the marks. All I know is that I was failed in Essay and it helped me a lot to realize my weakness, I faced those weaknesses of mine whole heartedly tried to over come them and today I have qualified.

    Any other query, feel free to contact me.

  61. hassan on November 16th, 2007 9:28 pm

    brother Farrukh you have mentioned in your recipe that you learnt a great deal from academy regarding approaching the questions in the exam(which was applicable to all papers)in general,please explain.Moreover what should be the style to approach IR questions?Thanks

  62. drfarrukhhmalik on November 16th, 2007 9:31 pm

    @Hassan:

    My experience tells me that if you know and learn the map of the world to complement the question in both IR and Current affairs papers it will help you a lot. Moreover try to divide the time in questions and always try to attempt the question, that asks you to write short notes on two-three topics, in last till be really offer you a helping hand in timed mode.
    Anything else you want to know? You are welcome!

    I wanted to do CSS couple of years ago (can’t do any more due to age restriction) but never tried because of english language demands. I knew I would have cleared all other subjects in firts attempt but english essay. Those who never went to grammar schools can’t just learn good english once they are grown up. Any how I feel it was a Pakistan loss not mine. Only if they could low english requirements for CSS jobs which don’t requirement high levels of interaction. And also people like me who wantz to return to Pakistan and join CSS should be given 2-3 years age margin. Any how I am planning to come back and join MQM (I am urdu speaking and don’t agree completely with politics of MQM) but unless people like me comes forward, MQM politics would never improve.)

  69. Dr Farrukh Malik on November 23rd, 2007 10:09 am

    @Obi wan Kenobi:
    Thank you very much for your comments and I am glad that you stopped by and shared your thoughts. From your comment, at the moment,I could say that it is very well phrased and if you would have given the exams, you would have passed it but at times there are certain things out of our control. About coming back to Pakistan and joining MQM, yes you are very right and your intention is highly appreciable. I wish you good luck.
    Once again I am glad that you visited my blog and gave away your views, keep coming back and share your views and opinions.

  70. Sehar on December 6th, 2007 8:51 pm

    AOA Sir,

    This indeed is a very helpful blog and instead of listening ‘it’s tough, work hard’ things only, we have solid steps to follow and ure inspiring story.

    Now my query is that, I’m a writer already and I write for different sections of Dawn n The News for youth and women. So english isn’t my problem. However, I don’t know how to prepare for the essay writing for CSS as I don’t have ‘content’ to write for them (the topics are all so political). Secondly, I’m naware of the wordcount for the essay. Suggest me programmes to watch out for current affairs. I’m still too young to appear for CSS (haven’t aquired the min age limit) but I want to start preparing now. Also Suggest me some books for Pakistan Studies and Islamyat too. I want to prepare for compulsary subjects in 2008 and after that I’ll think about optionals.

  71. Dr Farrukh Malik on December 6th, 2007 10:36 pm

    @Sehar:
    I would like to welcome you ‘on board’ Silence and I am glad that friends like you are stopping by and lending my their eyes by reading my content.
    I am happy to hear that you are a writer and use to contribute to papers of high repute, I would add that it will give you an edge over other since your writing skills will be much better but a few words of caution. When I appeared in my first attempt I was a contributer to international journals but it helped me little since those who use to check papers were more inclined to conventional writings so I will suggest you to work on it properly and I know you will make it.
    As for as question of content is concerned, it will come with reading, keep reading the good stuff and practice writing you will be up and high.
    About current affair, try watching BBC’s world news and Asia today, it will give you alot. About books regarding Pak Studies, I think Pakistan Affairs by Sohail Bhatti is good. About Islmiyat keep reading the Dawn’s friday feature and any other book available in the market.
    About preparation strategy, I am glad you are focusing on compulsory since these are the papers in which candidates use to fail mainly. So I hope you got your answers, any further queries, feel free to ask me and spread the word about this blog since it is very important to bring friends together who are willing to put their energies for CSS.
    I wish you good luck!!!

  72. Sehar on December 7th, 2007 9:30 am

    Thank u very much indeed sir. I’ll get hold of Sohail Bhatti’s book at my earnest. According to my age, I can’t appear before 2010. So I’ve plenty of time and I want to invest it in developing the ‘basic’ skills… course n syllabus etc doesn’t take that much time as it takes for one to involve him/her self in the political analysis and current affairs etc.

    Secondly, what exactly do u mean by conventional writings? See this article of mine for example… do u think written essays can be on the same format?

    http://www.jang.com.pk/thenews/may2007-weekly/you-15-05-2007/index.html

    Do let me know…

  73. Dr Farrukh Malik on December 7th, 2007 11:49 am

    @Sania:
    For Essay you can find many titles available as for as my experience is concerned I would advice Dawn apart from this for improving language you can go on reading some good master pieces from literature. About I.R., to me International relations by Parkash Chandra is at par. About topics, they should be diverse ranging from current affairs to social issues. About what to reading Dawn, it depends since Newspaper is full with almost everything. Go ahead and find things of your interest. Any more queries, feel free to put them here. I wish you good luck in everything.

    My Query:

    Sir, I’ve taken up British History, English Literature and Economics as my optional subjects. Please let me know whether these are scoring. Moreover, with just about a year remaining in the completion of my graduation i.e. BBA, should I only concentrate on my english (Chewing Up Daily Dawn)? Or should I also prepare for optional subjects? (Sure, after BBA I plan to invest at least one complete year on CSS preparation)

    Massively indebted.

    I cant not comment on your situation when it comes to making decision to appear or not because for that I need to know about your age. If you are on the borderline where you have two attempts and age good for two, take this attempt.
    I would say, you are best judge for your preparation. If you feel that you can pass and it is only an issue of anxiety then go ahead and good luck for your future!

    The most important thing to get success in life is to be analytical in a relaxed mood, i mean without any tensions. Every thing else You can get with practice and patience. But to be analytical needs special approach.
    The best way to pass CSS exam is Read and grasp and analyse, than write your own views. that’s all. zafar

    AOA
    sir ill be appearing in 2009 c.s.s exams.. there r many people with whom ive talked about c.s.s and almost all of them have said very discouraging things regarding c.s.s, ive never put an ear to their crap but sometimes these remarks r so diccouraging that i feel like my convictions r being trampled and i start loosing hope and that is when a question rises in my mind “can i really achieve it or its just an illusion of my mine” but on the contarary when i read ur comments my confidence reaches its peak… so im very perplexed here ,these mind games r playing on me i really need ur words in this situation coz i dont wanna end up as a laughing stock for these people infact i wanna have the last laugh of it..
