(This write up is a tribute to Great Arab Leader Yasir Arafat. It has nothing to do with his political ideology)
The great leader of Arab world. The hero of this century, a ‘Noble Peace’ laureate Yasir Arafat passed away. I was watching the live coverage on BBC and for the moment I was not able to controll my emotions. A poster was hanging in his compound in Ramallah sayng ‘Yasir is people and People never die’. Yes, He was a person who emerged as a symbol of struggle to oppressed nations of the world and he will not die.
I know the palestinian nation as a nation who fights against sophisticated weapons with stones in hands. The three consective generations have suffered the worst of times. Today this nation is trapped in middle of no where as they are mourning the death of a great leader.
In last I would say that the rift President Arafat has left will not be filled by any one but I hope that new leadership will not let his struggle mar. May the soul of this leader rest in Peace!
