It is being voiced time and again on all the major TV channels and national dailies that Justice Abdul Hammed Dogar has done something wrong by getting marks of her daughter increased by re-assessing her exam copies in Federal board. Further, it is being reported that this step has resulted in her admission in some private medical college. In this context, I came across this very interesting  open letter of Ms. Samia from Kharian Cantt. published at at Naitazi. By reading this letter, I came to know about the other side of story and felt myself obliged to cross post it here because it is responsibilty of all the belivers of  free speech to get the voice of everyone across to put light on all the possible angles.  So, Here you go with the text of said letter:

The title of this post is never welcome at least to a Pakistani. Same goes with me, when I first read it. This title ‘Twelve steps to shock and awe Pakistan’s economy’ is taken from of an article by an Indian professor of finance and control working at Indian Institute of Management - Bangalore. In this article the author has tried to put some recommendation for the current Indian regime to shock and awe Pakistan’s Economy. To me appear more an strategy document against Pakistan then a simple article.

This post is meant to introduce you to The Competitive Examination Preparation (CEP) Forum launched recently to help those who want to prepare for CSS and other competitive Examination in Pakistan.

Having passed Central Superior Services (CSS) Examination Pakistan, I feel that, simply studying is not enough. We need to understand the art of passing it and it is only possible when one has a guide who can provide him with timely advice on preparation related issues. For that matter, I happened to start a series of advice columns that received a very encouraging response by my readers and it kept me motivated to continue writing. To me, this was not enough. I always wanted to go for a better option but limited time never allowed me to run an extra mile. The things went on as such until Prometheus came up with idea of starting a CSS related forum. I was impressed with his work plan and motivation so agreed to help him out with all my heart and soul. Time proved that Prometheus was serious when he discussed this idea with me so with his firm determination he has started this Forum named “The Competitive Exams Preparation (CEP) Forum”. The Competitive Exams Preparation Forum aka The CEP Forum at the moment is passing through its beta but it has already a good collection of material on almost everything related to Competitive Exams Preparation. In this post I will provide you a detailed insight.

For quite sometime, this letter reportedly from Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s sister Mrs. Nargis Makhdoom to Dr. Mukhtiar Ahmed of Higher Education Commission of Pakistan for favoring an employ of his department is being circulated among internet user. I am not sure about its authenticity but  I am not surprised since such practices are not new around since every other politician and his near and dear ones carry such printed letters.

Soon after this letter got circulated, it was labelled an effort to defame the Prime Minister and in this context a very interesting news item got published in major dailies of Pakistan. It was basically the statement by PM Gilani warning his relatives to not to use his name for personal interest.

To the Karachi based blogger Tazeen this incident is latest goof to jump in and this time it is not from a Cabinet member but the ‘Sister’ of Prime minsiter and she writes,

It is reported that Porsche has unveiled its new-generation 2009 Boxster and Cayman models at a press conference at the Greater Los Angeles Auto Show. The special about the event was that the German sports car maker also displayed the first car to don the Porsche name, affectionately known as Porsche No. 1, as well as the company’s first-ever race car, the 550 Spyder, which is on loan from the collection of Jerry Seinfeld. Both are among the most historically significant sports cars of their eras and represent Porsche’s first mid-engine designs, the same engine configurations now thoroughly refined in both the new Boxster and Cayman.

Obama’s promise of change: Reality or just a Slogan?

It was dream come true for African Americans to see Barrack Obama winning the United States (US) election 2008. It was not less than a miracle to see a black president where persecution of African Americans was mere routine in recent past. The victory of Obama is something that is an out come of his polity which can be judged through his election campaign slogan of ‘Change we need’. It is true that US needs the change badly but will Obama and his fellows be able to offer that change? Very little can be said or judged at the moment.
